In many cases of serious injury, clinical negligence, asylum and immigration, an independent medical report is required to support your case. Your solicitor or representative may request a medico-legal report from our medical experts to assess your condition. We make the process as straightforward as possible for you;
Step 1
We will arrange an appointment with an independent medical expert specialising in the condition you have. In most cases, this will be reasonably local to you, but there are instances where you may need to travel to the specialist.
Step 2
There may be a requirement for the medical expert to access your medical records. If this is required, we will ask you to sign our Letter of Authority giving us permission to obtain these records. There is no cost to you in organising this.
Step 3
After your appointment, the medical expert will send us their report detailing their opinion of your condition and your expected recovery times. We will check that the report is factually correct and adheres to the format required by the Ministry of Justice to support your claim.
Step 4
Once we have ensured that everything is n order, we will send the report to your solicitor. They will then advise you further about your case.
If you require treatment such as physiotherapy, osteopathy or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), our rehabilitation and occupational health team can provide an integrated rehabilitation programme to address both the physical and psychological conditions enabling a speedy recovery to health and return to work.
